Inspector, Agricultural Operations

EarthClaims inspectors are trained and qualified professionals whose primary job responsibilities include on-site visits to farming operations seeking certification. During on-site visits, inspectors interact with farmers, conduct a review of records, and make direct observations of the farm’s production systems. Inspectors prepare and submit written reports of their observations to EarthClaims for use in evaluating the suitability of the farm operation for certification. Professional, accurate, and impartial inspection work is critical to the delivery of quality verification services, and inspectors are a crucial part of our team.

Qualifications: A background in animal science and/or experience with livestock operations is preferred. Experience with verification systems is a plus. Candidates must be able to work in a customer-oriented environment and deliver inspection services with precision, accuracy, impartiality, and professionalism. Attention to detail, organization, communication skills, and timely completion of assignments is required.

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to learn and understand complex program standards and must successfully complete an inspector credentialing process. Must maintain required credentials and incorporate into inspection work EarthClaims guidance and feedback when received.

This position involves frequent use of e-mail and basic computer programs.

Travel requirements: Inspectors travel frequently. Travel periods are typically one week in length, and can be multiple times per month depending on assignments.

Status: Inspectors are independent contractors or employees.
